The 5 P’s of Waiting

Good morning gorgeous! Time to document life today, make a big breakfast and wait together on God’s perfect timing.

Two weeks I didn’t go, fearing my heart was not prepared enough or in the right place to sit and be vulnerable. My goal to go every week was wearing away as I put more worth in my successes rather than in my Creator.

Bible study, as I have mentioned before, is my safe place when I haven’t gone to church in a while or am seeking to find answers my heart hasn’t succeeded to find on its own.

My heart this week pulled me to go and understand that I have to be patient. Patience is hard to find, especially today with technology giving us whatever we want, whenever we want it. Sadly, technology will not show you right away if you got that job you applied for, what man God has set out for you or where you will be living next year.

Why is she still sick? Why is my life in shambles? Why have I not found him yet? These questions I hear all the time in my own world and in others. The Lord works in amazing ways and HAS A PLAN. I, being the planner for everything, struggle with letting Him take over my life in every aspect. I will always say, okay God can handle this part and I will handle the rest. Nope. That isn’t how life works.

This morning as I woke up contemplating what God is doing and why I can’t find patience in His timing, two verses came across my path and I wanted to share them with you:

Psalm 37:4

“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Mathew 6:31-33

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

This does not mean the Lord will give you everything you want, but He does give you everything you pray for in His perfect timing. The outcome of your prayer might not be what you want but it is what you need because as author Jordan Lee says,

“God knows our hearts needs and desires. When we seek His kingdom, He will not fail to meet the needs of our hearts. If we truly believe this truth, we will no longer need to settle for temporary satisfaction because He promises that all of these things shall be added unto us. He will give us His best and meet our every need.”

This is way easier said than done so don’t think I am an expert because I am learning every day how to be the woman that God has shaped me to be and become. Yes, I said become because we are all growing. Our faith never stops growing. As you grow today, pray for patience and peace in all aspects of your life. God knows what He is doing and He never fails. You are not a failure. You are loved and have a purpose on this Earth. When in doubt, worry or confused, think of the 5 P’s:
